A “BIG GUY” has no bigger friend than someone who is willing to climb up on a roof with him when he is drunk, sit with him at the edge of that roof, and listen to whatever he may have to say.
The 13th century Sufi poet, “Rumi”, was one of those “BIG GUYS” who was willing to sit with a friend who was perhaps a bit over-enthusiastic regarding his abilities to be the “KING OF THE UNIVERSE!!!” from whatever roof he happened to be on at the time.
Pretty much every “BIG GUY” that I know has been that “drunk on the roof”, in some manner, at least once in his life.
Thank the Lord, and their mothers and fathers, for the guys who are big enough, and caring enough, to talk some sense to that “’Wanna-Be’ BIG GUY” at the roof’s edge.
We all need a friend like that.
That’s something “BIG GUYS” do…
Another thing that “BIG GUYS” do, is listen to other people’s ideas and advice about living.
Some of it may work, and some of it may not. A person has to sort that out for themselves.
A great many “BIG GUYS” (and gals) have come and gone through the years, and some are still with us. They have left “bread crumbs” of advice for us in hopes that some of them would be of help to us.
G.T. Barbarian has taken it upon himself to share what he feels is the best of what he and others have had to say about our lives - and the challenges that come with them - with the rest of us.
